Tasting notes

Château Lucia's 2001 vintage is something you definitely want to try. It's a Bordeaux classic with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot at its heart, reflecting everything you'd expect from this iconic region. After 25 years in the bottle, it's matured beautifully in both color and flavor.

This wine makes a memorable appearance in volume 11 of 'The Drops of God' when Kawaramoke introduces it to Shizuku. Even though it's heavy and rich, the smoothness that follows is incredibly gentle—like someone you just can't wait to see again after saying goodbye.

Pour a glass and take a look at that deep ruby color. You'll notice a hint of orange around the edges, showing its maturity. As you take in the aroma, powerful notes of cassis and black cherry greet you, with a subtle sweet vanilla backdrop adding complexity and allure.

On the palate, it starts with a rich fruitiness, leading into robust tannins. But then, the finish is remarkably silky, just like velvet. The acidity is pleasantly balanced, supporting a solid structure. The long finish leaves you wanting more and more. It's something special, so be sure to decant it and savor every sip.
