Tasting notes

Domaine Gallevan's 2003 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge is a rich red wine from the Rhône region in southern France, mainly made from Grenache and Syrah. You can really feel the strength of nature in this vintage.

In the manga "Kami no Shizuku," it appears in volume 11, being shared at a wine specialty shop, Ishikawa. Even though it's a young vintage, it’s described as having a gentle warmth that almost feels melancholic. It’s the kind of wine that touches the heart.

When you pour it into a glass, you'll see a deep garnet color, starting to edge towards a brick hue. The aroma is open and expressive, with strong sweet notes of blackberry and dried plum. There's also a hint of violet, which adds a floral charm that makes you want to keep smelling it.

As you taste it, the tannins are pronounced but have softened over time to become velvety. The acidity is smooth, complementing the ripe sweetness of the fruit and Mediterranean spice nuances, creating a sense of richness. The finish is long, with that elegance lingering on. It's a wine to savor slowly and enjoy every moment.
