Tasting notes

Hey, you gotta try this 1978 Château Haut-Brion. It's from Bordeaux, and it's got that classic Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blend going on. With a vintage like '78, you can't help but wonder what time has done to it.

Remember in volume 7 when Shizuku got this from Issei? The look on Shizuku's face was something else. It's like he wasn't expecting much, and you can't help but wonder what he truly thought after taking a sip.

Just look at that color—it's got that aged brick hue after 48 years. The aroma is deep, with notes of dried cherry and a smoky undertone, almost like tea. When you sip it, there's a rich burst of cassis and black cherry flavors. The acidity is lively and the tannins have that velvety quality. That's what maturity does for you.

And the finish? It's just so long and refined. It's what you'd call elegant with a lingering finish. If you're gonna serve it, maybe give it a little decanting first.
