Tasting notes
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, often just called DRC, is one of the most prestigious producers in Burgundy. When you talk about Romanée-Conti, you're talking about the pure expression of Pinot Noir. It's a wine of unparalleled complexity and elegance.
In Volume 25 of 'Drops of God', this wine was brought up by Shizuku's rival, Issei, as an example. In that scene, the wine's uniqueness and the affection it garners from connoisseurs were highlighted.
Pouring into the glass, it reveals a bright ruby color. The aroma is enchanting, with violets and raspberries gently unfolding, and as time passes, more layers of complexity emerge. On the palate, the tannins are silky, the acidity lively, providing a taut structure, with a touch of spice lingering in the long finish.
This wine is elegant with a long finish. It's best enjoyed around 16°C, not too chilled, in a medium-sized glass to fully appreciate its charm.
