Tasting notes
Château Mouton Rothschild 1992—just hearing the name gives you a sense of something special, right? It's one of those legendary First Growths from Bordeaux, blending mainly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. With 34 years of aging, there's a whole world of complexity waiting to be explored.
This wine appeared in Volume 2, when Shizuku and Sarah enjoyed it the night before. We don't know what conversations they shared, but it's clear they were having a moment worth savoring. They must have been drawn to its rich flavors and mature charm.
Pour a glass and you'll see a deep garnet hue with a hint of orange at the rim. The aroma is a heady mix of ripe blackcurrant, smoky tobacco, and forest floor. It's the kind of complexity that just overwhelms your senses. When you take a sip, the tannins are silky smooth, and the acidity is strong yet lively, holding everything together so well.
The finish lingers with notes of truffle and cedar, spreading through your mouth. This is definitely a wine to take your time with and truly savor. I'd say serve it around 16°C in a large glass, and maybe decant it a bit to really bring out its potential.
