Tasting notes
Jean-Yves Bizot's Vosne-Romanée Les Jacquines is a true expression of Burgundy's Pinot Noir. From the 2002 vintage, this bottle has aged perfectly over 24 years, ready to offer you a delightfully complex experience. It's the kind of wine you open to savor the depths of time and tradition.
In Volume 5 of "Kami no Shizuku," this wine is presented by Mishima to Kaori, painting a picture of a rich brook with red flowers reflecting in the shimmering water. The aroma of roses and the tart sweetness of fresh strawberries seem to drift towards you, evoking a feeling of tranquility and subtle excitement.
Pour it into your glass, and you'll notice its lovely garnet hue with a brick-like rim. The nose is greeted with a bouquet of rose petals, followed by hints of sous bois and tea. On the palate, the acidity is firm yet smooth, with silky tannins that feel like velvet, providing a graceful structure. The body is robust enough to support the fruitiness, presenting an elegant and well-defined character.
The finish is long, leaving a pleasant fruity sweetness behind. Serve it slightly cool, around 14–16°C, in a slightly larger glass to fully appreciate its nuances. No need for decanting—just pour and enjoy as it unfolds in your glass.
