Tasting notes

Château Beychevelle is one of the renowned wines from Bordeaux, and the 1945 vintage is truly special. Made in a year symbolizing post-war rebirth and hope, this wine, primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, still holds its allure even after all these years. It's been aging in the bottle for 81 years, and just opening it feels like a celebration.

In the 16th volume of 'The Drops of God', this wine appears when Shizuku and Miyabi evaluate it. Their serious expressions and the atmosphere of the scene highlight the wine's uniqueness. I'm sure their awe will resonate with you too.

Looking at it, you'll see a beautiful brick color with hints of orange at the rim. When you tilt the glass, the thick legs speak of the time it's spent aging. On the nose, you'll first catch deep aromas of tea and dried herbs, followed by dried fruits and a touch of undergrowth. It's like you can sense the passage of time just through the aroma.

As for the taste, it starts with a robust attack. The fruit richness fills your mouth, and the acidity is strong yet rounded, leaving a lasting impression. The tannins are silky, blending elegantly in your mouth. The finish is long, with complex flavors lingering on. Drinking this feels like you're tasting a piece of history.
