Tasting notes
Henri et Gilles Remoriquet's Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru Les Bousselots from 1990 is something special. It's 100% Pinot Noir from Burgundy, and even among renowned wines, this one stands out with its strong character. You know, after all these years in the bottle, it's gained even more depth.
Remember that scene in Volume 14? When Jacques forced Shizuku into a blind tasting at the bar? This wine's firm tannin structure really shone through, a true hallmark of Nuits-Saint-Georges. The tension in the air matched perfectly with the wine's strength, making it a moment to remember.
Take a look at this wine, it's got that garnet color with a brick-red rim. When you sniff it, you're greeted by lush aromas of black cherry and dried plums. There are also earthy, mushroom-like nuances that make you feel like you're wandering through a forest, it's just so complex.
On the palate, you get this rich fruitiness with lively, sharp acidity and dense tannins that really grip your tongue. The finish is long, leaving a spicy kick that lingers on. I'd suggest you try it at around 14-16°C and let it breathe a bit to really bring out its depth.
